Clifty Falls Inviting Public To Cut Downed Trees For Firewood

The cost of one pickup-truck load is $10. 

(Madison, Ind.) - Clifty Falls State Park is inviting the public to cut up and remove certain downed trees for firewood. 

Trees eligible for firewood have fallen as a result of natural causes or have been dropped by property staff. Eligible trees can be found along roadsides or in public places such as campsites, and picnic areas. 

Permit sales and cutting will be Tuesday through Friday from February 1 to March 15. They will also be available daily from March 15 through March 31. 

The cost of one pickup-truck load is $10. 

All proceeds will be used for resource management and restoration efforts, including the replacement of trees in campgrounds and other public areas. Firewood permits must be obtained for each load at the Clifty Falls park office or main desk at Clifty Falls Inn between 9:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. daily.
