Zero-Dating Policy At One Jeffersonville Elementary School

Towards 5th graders

A new policy at Riverside Elementary in Jeffersonville says fifth graders aren’t allowed to date as the school sent letters to the parents on the new zero-dating policy.

Greater Clark County Schools says broken hearts have been causing distractions during the school day for fifth-grade Riverside students. They now have a deadline to get single and some parents say it goes too far.

The school says the problem comes when the puppy-love ends, arguing that broken hearts have been carrying over into the classroom.

A spokeswoman for the district confirmed this is a real policy, but there’s been no mention of how they plan to enforce it. Parents with questions are being directed to the school principal.
