(Jeffersonville, Ind.) - Detectives from the Indiana State Police are investigating a police-involved shooting on Middle Road in Jeffersonville.

The shooting occurred around 1:00 a.m. this morning which lead to the death of a Clarksville man.

The preliminary investigation reveals that shortly after a trooper from the Indiana State Police Sellersburg post made a traffic stop on a passenger car for having broken tail lights while on Middle Road near Loma Vista Court in Jeffersonville.

There were two individuals occupying the vehicle.

While approaching the vehicle, the trooper noticed the female driver was possibly having a medical issue, and requested an ambulance. The trooper spoke to the male passenger who had allegedly given a false name to the officer. The male was later identified as Malcolm Xavier Ray Williams, 27, of Clarksville, Indiana.
