(Madison, Ind.) – Two recently conducted traffic stops by the Madison Police department lead to arrests on drug charges.

On Monday, May 11 Sr. Patrolman Aaron Watson conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Joshua Torrance. Watson was familiar with Torrance from previous encounters and knew him to have a suspended driver's license.

During the traffic stop, a passenger in the vehicle, Dari Youngblood, 26, of Madison was found to have a handgun on her person. Officers also located a small amount of marijuana in the vehicle.

Youngblood was placed under arrest for possession of a handgun without a license and possession of marijuana.

While being booked into the jail, additional methamphetamine was located on her person.

On May 18, 2020, Madison Police arrested Chad T. Hester 40, Madison, Indiana, for possession of methamphetamine.

Madison Police received a report of a reckless driver southbound on Michigan Hill, operating a full-sized white Ford pick-up.  Madison Police Chief John Wallace observed the truck traveling southbound on West Street, and executed a traffic stop in the 100 block of E. Second Street, after observing erratic driving.

As a result of the traffic stop, and the subsequent search of the vehicle, a crystal type substance was located in the console of the truck. The substance field-tested positive as methamphetamine.

Hester was transported to the Jefferson County Jail. Hester has the presumption of innocence until otherwise proven guilty.

Detective Kyle Cutshaw, Patrolman Trent Smith, Captain Bruce Heaton, and Jefferson County Sheriff's Detective Yancy Denning assisted with the arrest.

All three have the presumption of innocence until proven guilty.
