Two arrested for methamphetamine after traffic stop

Large amount of drugs found

On 1/15/2023, The Madison Police Department was contacted by the Indiana State Police, who had a female call them via cell phone advising she had been kidnapped and was currently in a vehicle traveling through Hanover, Indiana into Madison, Indiana. ISP was able to relay the information and vehicle description to MPD Officers. 

      Patrolman Trent Smith with MPD located the vehicle near the North Entrance to Clifty Falls State Park. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle. As the vehicle pulled to the side of the road, an item was tossed from the vehicle, later determined to be a methamphetamine smoking pipe.All occupants of the vehicle were detained to conduct further investigation. 

    During the investigation, Officers located fentanyl, methamphetamine and marijuana inside of the vehicle, some of which was divided into separate baggies. Officers also determined during the investigation that the female was not kidnapped or being held hostage by the driver. 

    The driver of the vehicle, Andrew M. Hoegeman, 34, of Osgood, Indiana was arrested for invasion of privacy, a level 6 felony, Dealing Methamphetamine, a level 4 felony, Possession of methamphetamine, a level 5 felony, obstruction of justice, a level 6 felony, a possession of drug paraphernalia, a class C misdemeanor. Hoegeman was also found to have active arrest warrants out of Ripley County, Indiana. 

   The passenger of the vehicle, Brandi R. Cuneo, 34 of Lawrenceburg, Indiana was arrested for false informing, a Class A misdemeanor, Obstruction of Justice, a level 6 felony, and possession of methamphetamine, a level 5 felony. 

   All criminal charges are allegations, and both Brandy Cuneo and Andrew Hoegeman are presumed innocent unless otherwise proven guilty in a court of law.
