Three Arrested In Hanover Following Search Warrant

These arrests occurred on April 7.

(Jefferson County, Ind.) - On Wednesday, April 7, Deputies with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office along with the Hanover Police Department, served a Narcotics Search Warrant at 113 N. Sycamore Drive in Hanover.

During the execution of the search warrant officers located a white crystal-like substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine, hypodermic syringes, drug paraphernalia, illegal prescription drugs, and U.S. Currency. This is a result of an investigation that was led by Detective Ben Flint and Detective C.J. Miller along with the assistance of the Ohio Valley Crime Suppression Task Force.

The arrest and charges are as follows:

Becky Jo Walters, 46 of Hanover:

  • Dealing methamphetamine (level 5 felony),
  • Maintaining a Common Nuisance (level 6 felony),
  • Possession of Methamphetamine under 3 grams (level 6 Felony),
  • Illegal Possession of a Syringe (level 6 felony)
  • Possession of Paraphernalia (class c misdemeanor).

Codey Douglas Burirss, 25 of Butlerville, Indiana

  • Two Outstanding Warrants,
  • Possession of Methamphetamine under 3 grams (level 6 felony),
  • Illegal Possession of a Syringe (level 6 felony),
  • Possession of Paraphernalia (class c misdemeanor), 
  • Visiting a Common Nuisance a (class b misdemeanor).

Dustin Joy, 27 of Jasper, Indiana:

  • Possession of Methamphetamine under 3 grams a (level 6 Felony),
  • Illegal Possession of a Syringe with a prior conviction (level 5 Felony),
  • Possession of Paraphernalia (class c misdemeanor),
  • Visiting a Common Nuisance a (class b misdemeanor)
  • Providing False Information to Law Enforcement (level 6 felony).
