Subject Arrested In Pope John Lockdown

November 1, 2018: The Madison Police Department, with the assistance of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department and the Indiana State Police investigated an external threat made to an employee of Prince of Peach catholic Schools.  Out of an abundance of precaution, the schools were placed on lockdown as officers maintained a presence. 

 

November 2, 2018 : Investigating officers developed Bobby Kennedy 32 Florence, Kentucky, as a suspect and subsequently obtained a warrant for his arrest in connection with the threats made.  A search for Kennedy led officers to Main Street in Dupont, Indiana, where Kennedy was observed walking.  Kennedy fled from Jefferson County Sheriff Deputies and into an occupied Main Street (Dupont) residence.  Officers safely removed the occupants, searched the residence, and found Kennedy hiding in the home. 

 

Bobby Kennedy was taken into custody without further incident and transported to the Jefferson County Jail.  Kennedy faces preliminary alleged charges of serious Violent felon in possession of a gun level 4 felony / possession of a handgun w/o a license level 5 felony / intimidation level 5 felony / resisting law enforcement level 6 felony / residential entry level 6 felony.  Kennedy’s bond was set at $50,000.00 cash only.
