Scott Co. and Switzerland Co. Sheriffs Offices Release 2019 Statistics

Nearly 1,000 arrests made in Scott County and nearly 400 made in Switzerland County.

The Scott County Sheriff’s Office along with The Switzerland County Sheriff’s Office have released their departmental statistics for 2019.

According to Sheriff Jerry Goodin, of the Scott County Sheriff’s Office, there was 946 countywide arrest last year.

There were 222 drug-related arrests, 14,153 calls for service, and 11,150 case reports over the year.

Scott County Sheriffs Office Reserves worked over 10,501 hours during the year. This equates to tax savings for the taxpayers of over $215,280.00 for the service they provided.

Also, Scott County Sheriff’s Department graduated 10 prisoners with GEDs, 10 received welding degrees, and five graduated with safe food handling certifications.

Scott County Sheriffs' deputies made more criminal arrest this year than any other year in the sheriff’s office history.

SWITZERLAND COUNTY

Sheriff Brian Morton, of the Switzerland County Sheriff’s Office, reported there were 392 countywide arrests last year.

Switzerland County Sheriff’s deputies made 284 arrests, followed by Vevay Police with 82. Indiana State Police made 26 arrests in Switzerland County in 2019.

On average, there were 1.6 bookings per day and 48.3 per month with an average stay of 37 days. The out of county inmate billing totaled $204,902.

Law enforcement, EMS, or Fire responded to 8,360 calls in 2019 making it 405 calls per month.

There were 14 deaths in the county last year, down from the 16 in 2018.

Reports for Jefferson, Jennings, and Ripley Counties have not yet been posted.
