Pregnant teen, 18-year-old male struck by lightning in southern Indiana

Both individuals remain hospitalized

On August 2, 2024 Deputies with the Jennings County Sheriff's Office responded to an address in Country Squire Lakes in reference to 2 individuals who had been struck by lighting.

Deputies arrived quickly on scene, and discovered that an 18 year old male and teenage female juvenile, who is 9 months pregnant, were in a tent outside of their residence when they were both struck by lightning inside of their tent.

Deputies rendered aid until Rescue 20 arrived. Both individuals were treated for their injuries and are in serious but stable condition. We have received information that the baby is ok as well.
