Giving out ‘Trooper Teddy’ bears
Troopers, dispatchers, civilian staff and Citizen Police Academy Alumni from Post 5 of the Kentucky State Police visited the Norton Children’s Hospital this morning. During their visit they gave out ‘Trooper Teddy’ bears to the brave children who are being treated at the hospital.
This will all be in honor of and on behalf of injured Trooper Michael “Mickey” Gonterman U/534.
The Kentucky State Police has always been passionate about serving and protecting the children of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and the ‘Trooper Teddy’ program is simply another way they are able to accomplish this.
Trooper Gonterman was especially passionate about this Kentucky State Police mission, which is why it is in his honor that we continue to carry out his work even if he is not yet able to do so himself. We at the Kentucky State Police are hopeful and positive that he will continue to be blessed in his recovery and he himself will be able to visit the children at Norton’s soon.
