(Greensburg, Ind.) - Multiple agencies responded to a large fire last Friday in the area of Hulsbosch Dairy Farm.
Letts Volunteer Fire Department was first dispatched to a reported structure fire around 11:19 a.m.
Upon arrival, firefighters found a well-involved storage barn containing approximately 700 to 800 tons of large square hay bales and agricultural equipment. Due to the extent of the fire and the significant amount of material involved, six more fire departments were called for mutual aid.
Crews remained on scene for nearly 10 hours, working alongside heavy equipment operators to spread hay and remove debris.
An estimated 100,000 gallons of water was used during suppression efforts.
