Plane crash
The northern Kentucky pilot who was reported missing Thursday night has been found dead.
The Gallatin County Sheriff’s Department says Robert (Bobby) Askins took off from his personal air strip on Jericho Road around 5:00 p.m. on Thursday and did not return.
Askins was flying a red and cream small plane with a tail #N228LC on it. He had not contacted his wife or friends, and there was concern he may have crashed the plane.
Officials located Askins' body Friday afternoon where his plane crashed near Patriot in Switzerland County. Askins was pronounced dead at the scene.
A cause of the plane crash has yet to be determined.
