Man Arrested After Colliding with MPD Cruiser

(Madison, Ind.) - A Madison man was arrested following a collision with a Madison Police Department Cruiser. 

On February 18, at approximately 11:07 p.m., Lt. Season Jackson attempted to stop a vehicle who was swerving into oncoming traffic near the 800 block of Green Road. 

Lt. Jackson then followed the vehicle with her emergency lights on, the vehicle still failed to yield and continued traveling westbound on Green Road. 

Sr. Patrolman Seth Melton and Patrolman Cameron Blankenship were near the intersection of Green Road and Maple Street conducting a separate traffic stop when the vehicle that Lt. Jackson was following collided with the back of Melton's stationary cruiser. 

The driver of the vehicle was identified as Zachary Dulaney, 26, of Madison displayed signs of impairment. Due to the fact that the accident involved a MPD vehicle, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department was contacted to conduct the investigation. 

No individuals were injured during the incident.  

According to court records, Dulaney appeared in the Jefferson Superior Court on February 19, on the charges of Resisting Law Enforcement (Level 6 Felony), Operating a Vehicle While Impaired Endangerment (Class A Misdemeanor), Operating a Vehicle While Impaired (Class C Misdemeanor).
