No changes from last year regarding covid
We are seeing some positive COVID cases within some of our buildings.
Currently, the Covid isolation has not changed since the end of last year. If an employee or student is positive for Covid they need to stay home for 5 days after the day symptoms start. They may return on day 6 if fever free for 24 hours and symptoms are improving. It is then recommended that they wear a mask on days 6 thru 10
Ex: John calls the school and says he is positive for Covid. You ask what day his symptoms started. He says Symptoms started Monday...
Monday is Day 0 which is the day symptoms started. If you have no symptoms on the day of a positive test then the test date is day 0. If you develop symptoms anytime during the isolation period it starts over as day zero.
- Tuesday is Day 1 Isolation/stay home
- Wednesday is Day 2 Isolation/stay home
- Thursday is Day 3 Isolation/stay home
- Friday is Day 4 Isolation/Stay home
- Saturday is Day 5 Isolation/stay home
- Sunday is Day 6 out of isolation/ can be out and back to school if fever free for 24 hours and symptoms are improving.
- Day 6 thru 10 masks are recommended (CDC guideline but not mandated).
We encourage you to call your physician's office to confirm the accurate time frame or schedule an appointment if necessary.
A few easy reminders for school:
- Wash hands often
- Cover your mouth when you sneeze or cough
- Do not share utensils
- Do not share drinks
