Madison Fire Companies Respond To Fire At Ohio Theatre

Damage to the roof

Fire companies from North Madison, Milton Township, Washington, Clifty and Walnut Street responded to reports of a fire near the corner of West and Main streets around 4:45 p.m. Thursday afternoon.

 

Firefighters arrived on scene to find a fire on the back section of the roof of The Ohio Theatre.

 

Employees of nearby businesses and apartments were evacuated.

 

No obvious exterior damage was caused on the structure, but the fire has damaged a portion of the roof and interior of the theater. The full extent of the damage is not yet known but said it was contained to the roof and under the roof as well to walls inside the theatre. 

 

The fire is said to have electrical.

 

Fire crews were on fire watch till early this morning.
