Schools will have classes as scheduled on Tuesday

Madison High & Middle Schools were put on “LOCK OUT” yesterday morning after a external threat.  Law enforcement are still investigating a few leads on the situation.  The schools plan to operate on a normal schedule today but students and parents will once again notice an increased police presence on both campuses as a precaution.

"We have received an external threat and at this time MCHS and MJHS are under a LOCKOUT situation.  No one will be allowed into or out of either building until the situation is resolved.  Normal instruction will continue inside of the builidings.  MCHS students who are currently on campus at Ivy Tech will be held at Ivy Tech until situation is resolved.  We will report additional information as it becomes available.

Everyone is safe, we ask that you please allow us to follow our procedures and do not call the buildings."

"Local law enforcement officials are continuing to investigate the situation regarding the external threat reported earlier today.

With the information currently available, law enforcement is comfortable following our normal dismissal procedures with an elevated police presence on both campuses this afternoon."
