Kentucky Teacher To Protest Pension Reform Again

Closed several school on Friday

Teachers are planning a rally in Frankfort today, and are walking out of their classrooms to make it happen.

The Kentucky Education Association says the rally is to remind lawmakers to what's best for the students, but follows last week's quick passage of a pension reform law.

Some school districts support today's walkout, saying the teachers' rally is what's best for kids.

Friday, Carroll and Gallatin Co schools were closed due to an unusually high number of teachers called in sick, and the district does not have enough substitute teachers to operate its schools. Both schools are on Spring Break this week. Trimble Co. Schools started their break on Friday and will continue this week.
