Kentucky State Police Investigate Henry County Accident

Driver was cited for multiple offenses

                                  

CAMPBELLSBURG, Ky. (04/19/2022) – On Monday April 18, 2022 Kentucky State Police Post 5 received a 911 call at approximately 3:15 pm in reference to an accident.  The accident which involved multiple vehicles occurred on Campbellsburg Road at Beasley Lane in Campbellsburg.

Kentucky State Police Troopers and Henry County Sherriff Deputies responded to the scene.  The preliminary investigation shows that a blue Chevrolet pickup which crossed the center of the road struck a silver KIA that was traveling in the opposite direction.  The pickup continued traveling south until it struck a white Jeep Cherokee head on.

The operator of the pickup was identified as Tonja Stines a 37 year old female of Pleasureville.  Stines was transported to the hospital as a result of her injuries.  Stines was cited for Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree, Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Controlled Substance 1st, Assault 2nd Degree, Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense(Methamphetamine), Possession of Controlled Substance 2nd Degree, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  Due to her injuries Stines was cited and released at the hospital. 

The operator of the silver KIA was Kevin Shannon a 36 year old male of Campbellsburg.  Shannon was not transported from the scene.  The operator of the white Jeep was identified as Timothy Helm a 37 year old male of Bedford.  Helm was also transported to the hospital as a result of the injuries he sustained. 

In addition to the Henry County Sheriff's Office Kentucky State Police Post 5 was also assisted on scene by Campbellsburg Fire Department, Henry County EMS, Air EMS, Lake Jericho Fire Department, and New Castle Fire Department.

The investigation is ongoing and being conducted by Kentucky State Police Post 5.
