Johnsonville recalls cheddar bratwurst sold in Indiana

Check your freezers you may have this product if you a purchased in the last few days

                                         johnsville brats

Johnsonville is recalling more than 22,000 pounds of cheddar bratwurst products because they could contain pieces of hard plastic.

The brats were produced on Feb. 5 and shipped to stores in Indiana and nine other states, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety Inspection Service says.

The affected bratwurst products are packaged in 19-ounce sealed trays containing five pieces each, labeled with the package code B9FOD and establishment number Est. 1647.

Johnsonville says two people have filed complaints about finding hard plastic in the bratwurst, but no injuries have been reported.

The FSIS is concerned that some recalled bratwurst may be in consumers’ freezers. Anyone who has purchased this product should not eat it and instead throw it away or return it to the place of purchase.

Consumers with questions regarding the recall can contact Amanda Fritsch, Johnsonville Consumer Relations Coordinator, at 888-556-2728 or via email at anachtweyfritsch@johnsonville.com.
