Jefferson County Under A Burn Ban

Until further notice

The National Weather Service, NOAA Climate Prediction Center, and local media have predicted conditions to remain dry throughout the next 6 to 10-day forecast.

In consultation with County, City, and Town Fire Chiefs, the Jefferson County Board of Commissioners has declared a burn ban under IC 10-14-3-29 on September 18th, 2025, due to an elevated risk of widespread fire hazards and ongoing drought conditions. Until conditions improve and this declaration is rescinded, it is necessary for the safety of Jefferson County’s residents and First Responders.
