(Madison, Ind.) – A Jefferson County man has been sentenced to nine years for his involvement in a 2019 incident of kidnapping and battery of a teenager.
On Friday, November 13 Jaylon Pace was sentenced in the Indiana Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to the charge of aiding, inducing, or causing kidnapping a level 3 felony. Pace will be serving these years with three years served and six years suspended to probation.
Pace was given credit for time served from July 1, 2010, to November 12, 2020.
The incident of kidnapping took place in June 2019 when two Jefferson County teenagers Elani Hines and Hailey Bartley forces a teenager from her friend’s home taking her to another residence where they then shaved part of her hair, poured various liquids on her, and beat her.

Hines was previously sentenced to 12 years in the DOC, six served and six suspended, after pleading guilty to a charge of kidnapping.
Bartley was sentenced to 10 years four served and six suspended, after pleading guilty to a charge of criminal confinement.
