(Jefferson County, Ind.) - In response to COVID-19 outbreak expanding rapidly, the Jefferson County Health Department will be suspending all normal nursing services for the next two weeks.

This closure includes immunizations for both the Tuesday walk-in clinics and scheduled appointments on Thursdays, as well as their walk-in STD testing on Wednesday afternoons, and their car seat program that operates on Wednesday mornings.

The Health Department would like to stress that this is simply due to the overwhelming amount of time the nursing staff is dedicating to COVID-19 activities.

“We are not attempting to limit visitors to our office who are seeking other department related services,” stated the department.

The department is planning to reassess the situation and determine whether to continue with the suppression or resume normal operations next week.

They do apologize for any inconvenience this causes and ask that you understand that they are making these decisions in order to provide the best possible care, considering the priority situation at hand.
