Sentenced To Indiana Department Of Corrections

SEVERAL INDIVIDUALS SENTENCED TO THE INDIANA DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTION

SCOTT COUNTY

On  August 26, 2021 and August 27, 2021, the Scott Count Prosecutor’s Office convicted and sentenced several individuals into the Indiana prison system.

Bradley Green, of Austin, was convicted and sentenced to twelve (12) years to the Indiana Department of Correction for Dealing in a Narcotic Drug with a prior conviction. Eight (😎 years of the sentence are to be served in prison.

Justin L. Smith, of Clarksville, was convicted and sentenced to four and a half (4 1⁄2) years in to the Indiana Department of Correction for Resisting Law Enforcement, Invasion of Privacy, and a revocation of his previous probation. Three and a half (3 1⁄2) years of the sentence are to be served in prison.

Daryon Couch, of Austin, was convicted and sentenced to seven and a half (7 1⁄2) years to the Indiana Department of Correction for Dealing Methamphetamine and violating probation with four and a half (4 1⁄2) years of the sentence to be served in prison.

“Even through these uncharted times the Scott County Prosecutor’s Office is fighting to see that Scott County is kept safe and that criminal offenders are held accountable for their actions,” stated Chris Owens, Prosecuting Attorney. “Our office is like the rest of the country and is having to deal with being short staffed and other obstacles throughout this pandemic, but even with all of these obstacles we are working to make sure Scott County remains the great place we all know and love by holding wrongdoers accountable.”

I would like to thank the Austin Police Department, the Scottsburg Police Department, and the Scott County Sherriff’s Department for their work that led to these convictions. I also want to thank Deputy Prosecutor Mark Kiesler for his work in obtaining the convictions and sentences in these matters.
