Hit & Run accident leads to arrest

Madison man arrested following hit & run

August 21, 2020, @ approximately 10:26 PM Madison Police responded to a personal injury accident, involving a motorcycle, at the intersection of Ivy Tech Drive and Michigan Road.  

Motorcycle driven by Joshua Haycock 34, Indianapolis, Indiana, was reportedly West bound on Ivy Tech Drive, approaching the intersection of Michigan Road, when struck by a vehicle driven by Cory R. Lewis 28, Madison, Indiana.  Lewis fled the scene of the accident, but was later located by Madison Police.  

Approximately twenty minutes prior to the accident, it was reported that a verbal altercation had occurred between Haycock and Lewis at the Circle "K" 115 Clifty Drive.  

Mr. Haycock was transported to KDH-ER by EMS for treatment of non life threatening injuries.  Cory Lewis was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident w/ serious bodily injury; level 6 felony.

Patrolman Jordan Perry led the investigation and was assisted by Captain Mundt, Lieutenant Jackson and Patrolman Lewis.  Cory Lewis has the presumption of innocence until otherwise proven guilty.
