(Frankfort, Ky.) – As Kentucky continues to see steady case numbers of COVID19, Gov. Andy Beshear stated that businesses can begin to increase their capacity and the state will plane to move forward with the Kentucky State Fair in August with restrictions.

During Tuesday’s press conference, Gov. Beshear said Kentucky businesses that have been at lower capacity as they reopened will be able to increase that capacity to 50 percent on Monday, June 22.

Businesses that have been at lower capacities include restaurants, retail, barbershops, hair salons, nail and tanning salons, and many others.

The restrictions and guidelines that have been put in place will remain under this new expansion of capacity.

Beshear also said during his press conference that the Kentucky State Fair will be able to take place in August with some restrictions. The fair will have fewer vendors, concerts will look different, and other changes will be made to the fair.

The state will be putting together a comprehensive plan to ensure a safe way to hold the event.
