First Security to Merge into German American

More details to come on when the official merger will take place

Banks in Kentucky and Indiana will become one in the coming weeks of the summer.

In a joint news release, German American Bancorp Inc. and First Security Inc. announced a definitive agreement to form a merger. First Security, which is based in Owensboro, KY, will merge into the German American family, which will include its 11 retail banking offices in Kentucky. German American serves the Madison community along with several other communities in the WIKI listening area.

No other details about the merger are known at this time.
