(Jefferson County, Ind.) – Ways to describe what 2020 has already been historic, unusual and the list can go on and on.

To add on top of the question that is on everybody is asking which is, what’s next?

Well, the folks at Farmers’ Almanac have made their annual predictions for what the winter months will look like.

As we prepare for those winter months, which have now been named the “Winter of Great Divide” by the Farmers’ Almanac, the forecast is calling for cold and snowy in the north and drought in the west.

“Based on our time-tested weather formula, the forecast for the upcoming winter looks a lot different from last year, quite divided with some very intense cold snaps and snowfall,” states editor Peter Geiger.

Residents of Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio will find themselves in the cold and very flaky, or wildcard region that stretches from Tennessee to the Ohio River Valley up to New England.

According to the Farmers’ Almanac, these weather systems will come with active storms, which will deliver a wintry mix of icy rain and/or snowy weather throughout the season.
