Dolly Parton Passes Away at 80

She is known as the Queen of Country Music

NASHVILLE - Dolly Parton, the Queen of Country Music has reportedly passed away. 

Her nephew, Brian Seaver, announced her passing in a social media post on Tuesday. 

Parton was 80. 

It was reported in recent times that Parton had been dealing with health issues, which prompted her to cancel some upcoming shows. The cause of her death is unknown at this time. 

Parton released her first album in 1967. Her musical career spanned 60 years and 50 studio albums. 

She sold more than 100 million records worldwide, making her one of the best-selling music artists ever. Parton had 25 singles reach No. 1 on the Billboard Country Music Charts and had 44 career Top 10 albums. She also received 11 Grammy Awards.

Outside of music, she leaves a lasting legacy with Dolly's Imagination Library, which is a book gifting program that mails free, high-quality books to children from birth to age five, no matter their family’s income.
