New Nature Center Hours

From December-February the Clifty Falls State Park Nature Center will change to winter hours of operation. It will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday-Friday and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. The Nature Center will be closed on Sundays and Mondays. Visit us online for upcoming happenings at the park.

Christmas Bird Count

Chickadee Join members of the Indiana Audubon Society for their annual Christmas Bird Count on Dec. 31 at 8 a.m. at the Clifty Inn. You can participate all day or just for an hour. Bring your binoculars and field guides. Early registration is requested before Dec. 28 by calling or texting Dick Davis at 317-966-6643. First Day Hike

On Jan. 1 at 1 p.m. meet at the Nature Center for a 2-mile rugged First Day hike along Trails 1 and 3. The hike will take 1 ½-2 hours. Drinks and cookies will be provided before the hike. Parking at the Nature Center is limited, but you may also park in the overflow lot across from the Clifty Falls Inn and walk over. Winter Weekend Getaway

Owl On Jan. 6-8, 2023, Clifty Falls’ interpretive naturalist will be hosting a Winter Weekend Getaway at the Clifty Inn. Enjoy a live birds of prey show, explore the lives of small mammals and spiders, go on an owl prowl to try and call-in owls, among other activities.

There will also be an Owl Canvas Painting Workshop. Registration is required for this event by calling the nature center at 812-273-0609 before Dec. 30. Registration is $30/person if you would like to attend the painting workshop and $20/person without the workshop. Space is limited. Pay your registration fee by writing a check payable to The Friends of Clifty Falls State Park and mail it to:
