Extensive investigation led to his arrest
On Tuesday May 14, 2024, Edward A. Holt Jr, 37, Charlestown, was arrested by the Franklin County, Indiana Sheriff’s Department on an arrest warrant issued out of Jefferson County for level 5 domestic battery. Holt’s arrest comes after an investigation, which was led by MPD Detective Phillip Wimpee, after allegations were made that Holt had battered a juvenile. After Detective Wimpee’s extensive investigation was completed, his findings were presented to the Jefferson County Prosecutor’s Office and the arrest warrant for Holt was issued. Holt is currently being held in the Franklin County Jail where he awaits transport back to Jefferson County. Detective Wimpee was assisted in his investigation by Detective Ricky Harris and the Children’s Advocacy Center of Southeastern Indiana.
Criminal charges are merely accusations and Edward A. Holt Jr has the presumption of innocence unless proven guilty in a court of law.
