(Madison, Ind.) - At a special meeting called by the Traffic Committee residents gather to express their concerns about the speed and safety in their communities.

The first to express concern was Mr. Klopp, a resident of the Oakhill neighborhood, he presented the concern that many people don’t stop at the stop signs, also that they don’t pay attention to the speed limit signs.

Another resident Mr. Lucas, had concerns about Cragmont Street saying,

“Most of the time it is pedal to the medal until they get to the stop sign, and half the time they don’t even stop there.”

Lucas also went onto explain that sometimes he gets woken up at early hours in the morning by the people speeding by his house, and he is even afraid he’s going to be hit when outside.

The committee listened to these concerns and suggested both speed bumps and speed reductions. They also stated that they will talk to the road department and see what they can do.

The board also discussed the actions that are being taken on the roads of Central and 2nd, Green Road- 800 to 1000 blocks, and Monroe Drive- 1300 block to reduce people speeding through those areas.
