In consultation with County, City, and Town Fire Chiefs the Jefferson County Board of Commissioners has declared a burn ban under IC 10-14-3-29 on September 13th, 2024, due to an elevated risk of widespread fire hazards and ongoing drought conditions. Until conditions improve and this declaration is rescinded, it is necessary for the safety of Jefferson County’s residents and First Responders.
