THIS PROJECT WILL BEGIN ON OR AFTER APRIL 10TH
JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ind.— Indiana Department of Transportation contractor E&B Paving Inc. announces plans to close State Road 62 on or after Monday, April 10 for a bridge replacement project over Salem Branch Creek in Jefferson County.
The bridge is located on S.R. 62 about 1.5 miles west of S.R. 129 between Melton Road and E. County Road 1050 S. Access to Alcorn Road will remain open. Work is expected to be complete by end of July, weather permitting.
During the closure, motorists should use the official detour route which follows S.R. 250, U.S. 421 and S.R. 129.
The contract was awarded to E&B Paving Inc. for $6.2 million in February. The contact includes a total of five bridge rehabilitation projects on S.R. 62 in Jefferson County. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, avoid distractions, and consider worker safety when traveling through active construction zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change
