Update: Autopsy Completed in Death of Robert Alan Bragman
SALEM, Ind. – An autopsy was completed today, November 25, 2025, on the body of Robert Alan Bragman, 43, of Salem.
According to the coroner’s preliminary findings, Mr. Bragman’s death was likely due to a cardiac event, possibly compounded by hypothermia. No foul play is suspected.
Toxicology results remain pending and the investigation continues under the direction of the Indiana State Police.
Robert Bragman was initially reported missing on Monday, November 17, 2025. Tragically, his body was discovered near a walking trail just west of Salem on Saturday, November 22nd by a locally organized search team.

SALEM, Ind. — The body of Robert Alan Bragman, 43, of Salem, was located Saturday afternoon by members of a search party coordinated by the Salem Police and Fire Departments.
Mr. Bragman had been reported missing to the Salem Police Department on Monday, November 17, 2025, after he was last seen on Sunday, November 16, 2025. On Saturday, search team members discovered Mr. Bragman’s body in a wooded area near a walking trail just west of Salem.
At the request of the Salem Police Department, the Indiana State Police has assumed the investigation. An autopsy is scheduled, and no additional details will be released until the autopsy has been completed.
The Bragman family has been notified.
