AUDITOR RETIRING

JEFFERSON COUNTY AUDITOR

Jefferson County Auditor Sherry Eblen will be retiring soon

Eblen has served nearly seven years as County Auditor beginning Sept. 5, 2014, after she was elected in a caucus of Republican precinct committee members to complete the term of Celeste Reed, who resigned when she and her husband moved to Phoenix for health reasons.

Eblen said she is in good health and is simply retiring.Eblen was elected twice as County Auditor, first in 2014 and again in 2018. Overall, she has been employed 16 years in Jefferson County government, working a combined nine years in the Prosecutor’s and Auditor’s offices before becoming County Auditor.

Crozier said a date must be set for a Republican caucus to choose a successor to serve out Eblen’s term. Eblen indicated she will continue to serve as County Auditor until a successor is selected by the caucus.
