Area Casinos Reopening Doors Beginning June 15

(undated) – Many casinos will be reopening their doors soon.

Indiana Gaming Commission officials announced Monday that most of Indiana’s casinos can reopen their doors beginning next week under COVID-19 safety plans they have submitted.

In preparation of opening casinos, the Indiana Gaming Commission (IGC) released its Health and Safety Guidelines for Reopening of Casino Operations on May 14.

To reopen casinos statewide are required to submit safety plans that include how each casino would encourage social distancing and how the would limit the number of people at the table games, along with requiring face masks for employees.

Many casinos have announced their reopening date to be Monday, June 15.

Rising Star will reopen on Monday at 6:00 a.m.

Hollywood Casino has announced they plan to reopen on Monday, June 15, pending final regulatory approval.

A Hollywood Casino spokesperson released the following statement:

"We have been working closely with the Indiana Gaming Commission, state and local leaders, and public health officials to finalize comprehensive reopening protocols and new health and safety precautions. We look forward to sharing details of our property-specific procedures in advance of reopening and welcoming back team members and our customers."

Just yesterday, Belterra Casino and Resort announced it will reopen to the public on Monday as well. Gaming operations will resume at 11:00 a.m. The property will temporarily operate under capacity restrictions in compliance with state directive.

“As we prepare to welcome back out guests, we will focus on protecting the health and safety of every person who comes through our doors,” said Peter Chu, Vice President and General Manager of Belterra Casino Resort.

In Ohio, Hard Rock Casino, formerly known as Jack Casino will reopen its doors on Friday, June 19.
