Architectural Walking Tours Return Twice A Month Starting May 3!

Take an amazing walking tour through downtown Madison’s National Historic Landmark District to experience its architectural beauty.

Tours will occur on the first and third Saturday of each month from May to October, except for the first Saturday in July, at 10 AM: May 3, May 17, June 7, June 21, July 19, August 2, August 16, September 6, September 20, October 4, and October 18. Tours will last approximately an hour to an hour and a half.

Tours start and end at the HMI Office at 301 W Second St. in Madison, a change from previous years.

The walk will not be strenuous and will cover approximately 10 blocks.

Discover Madison’s historic homes, churches, artistic structures, and other impressive sites. Learn about the three prominent styles of architecture that exist in the district: Federal, Greek Revival, and Italianate.

The Architectural Walking Tour is a great opportunity to see highlights of the architectural uniqueness that Historic Madison has to offer.

You will also find out more about the process and importance of historic preservation to protect the beauty and stories of our community.

This program is free to all attendees!

No reservations are required.

Donations from this program will benefit preservation efforts for sites owned and operated by Historic Madison, Inc.
