(Madison, Ind.) - Independence Day fireworks will be lighting up the night sky in the City of Madison.
Mayor Bob Courtney and the Board of Public Works and Safety gave their approval for the fireworks display to go on as planned on Saturday, July 4.
Attendees are asked to practice social distancing and follow safety guidelines set by health officials. To make social distancing possible the board approved for Vaugh Drive, West Street, and Central Avenue to be closed for the event.
The city is also developing a food festival for the day of the fireworks.
In case state officials decide to restrict large Fourth of July gathering and/or there is inclement weather the fireworks will be pushed back, and we will keep you updated on any changes.
