(undated) – It has been announced today that the Ohio River sweep has been postponed.

“The first priority of the program is the safety of our coordinators and volunteers. Since there are still many unknowns regarding state restrictions due to the coronavirus precaution, the safest thing to do is reschedule,” said Ohio River Valley Water Sanitation Commission

The sweep originally scheduled for Saturday, June 20 has now been postponed to Saturday, August 15.

The Ohio River Sweep is an annual, volunteer cleanup that extends the entire length of the Ohio River. Volunteers from the six states which border the river remove litter at multiple locations along the Ohio River and many of its tributaries.

The sweep is a family-friendly event and convenient for young people, families, and community organizations.
